Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts

Through participation in meetings and outings, boys 6-11 years of age learn citizenship, teamwork, responsibility, and leadership.  Scout troops welcome adults in leadership and support roles.  Contact- Don McComas (440) 930-9991

Girl Scouts/Brownies

Girl Scouts and Brownies are dedicated to helping all girls build character and gain skills for success in the real world.  In an accepting and nurturing environment with committed adult volunteers, girls develop strong values and leadership skills. Contact- Suzanne Dills (440) 933-7741

Catholic Youth Organization

The St. Joseph CYO provides a supervised program for all Catholic children grades 4-8 in Avon Lake. The sports include football, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, cross country, and wrestling.  Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month (except July) at 7:30PM and all are welcome to participate and volunteer.  Contact-Tony Yacobucci 216-548-7910

Bereavement Support Group

This group is open to all ages at no cost. Those who are grieving receive friendship and faith-based support as they move through the grieving process. Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 1:00 pm in St. Joseph Hall. Come heal with us. Contact - Peggy Murphy: 933-3152.

Couple Ministry

This parish centered ministry helps the pastoral staff in preparing engaged couples for marriage.  The Diocese Department of Marriage and Family Ministry supplies training for volunteers who meet with engaged couples to share married life experiences.  Contact- Lois Allegretto & Don Reaser (440) 933- 8978

Gardeners

The St. Joseph Garden Club is an informal group of parishoners who help to beautify the parish grounds.  They meet as a group on Wednesdays at 6:30PM from spring through late fall or work.  For those who cannot meet on Wednesdays, assignments to an area can be made and maintained at one's convenience.  Contact Elaine Rusinko : 933-6761or Barbara Vezdos : 933-6987.

Knights of Columbus- Father Ragan Council

The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal service organization of men founded under the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.  Applications are taken and degrees are given throughout the year.  Contact- Bob Cobos (440) 933-5567

Pre-Cana

A team of volunteers plans a pre-cana day to assist couples preparing for marriage by providing guidance in areas such as communications skills, decision making with time and money, lifestyles, marital adjustments, sexuality, and spirituality. Team members take part in active presentations and hosting couples throughout the day-long retreat.   Contact- Peggy Murphy (440) 933-3152 ext. 103

St. Joseph Youth Ministry

St. Joseph Youth Ministry is for area high school students interested in developing a teen community that provides opportunities for social interaction and meaningful participation in the life of the Church and civic community.  Programs and events are planned and executed by teens with the help of adult supervisors.  Contact- Mary Ellen Ewers-Pena 933-3152 ext. 107

Welcoming Committee
