The St. Joseph CYO provides a supervised program for all Catholic children grades 4-8 in Avon Lake. The sports include football, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, cross country, and wrestling. This parish centered ministry helps the pastoral staff in preparing engaged couples for marriage. The Diocese Department of Marriage and Family Ministry supplies training for volunteers who meet with engaged couples to share married life experiences. The St. Joseph Garden Club is an informal group of parishoners who help to beautify the parish grounds. They meet as a group on Wednesdays at 6:30PM from spring through late fall or work. For those who cannot meet on Wednesdays, assignments to an area can be made and maintained at one's convenience. A team of volunteers plans a pre-cana day to assist couples contemplating marriage by providing guidance in areas such as communications skills, decision making with time and money, lifestyles, marital adjustments, sexuality, and spirituality. St. Joseph Youth Group is a youth ministry for area high school students interested in developing a teen community that provides opportunities for social interaction and meaningful participation in the life of the Church and civic community.
