St. Joseph Parish School

St. Joseph Parish School is a community based, K-8 school located in Avon Lake, Ohio. Our school has been instilling Catholic values, setting high standards for academic excellence, and developing positive attitudes for service in its students for over sixty-five years.  Rooted in our Catholic faith, our faculty and staff take pride in both providing a challenging academic curriculum and nurturing life-long learners.  St. Joseph Parish School students are motivated and challenged by a curriculum that is based upon diocesan guidelines, which are aligned to the Ohio Common Core standards.  Instruction is complemented by service and enrichment activities, as well as before and after school opportunities.  St. Joseph School students demonstrate their love for Christ and others through service, treating others with respect, and aiming to do their best each day.  We are a community working together, valuing children and teaching values.

Mission Statement

St. Joseph, a Catholic parish school, models itself on the mission of Jesus Christ, striving to form compassionate young people who excel as Catholic Christians. We focus on spirituality, academics, and extra-curricular activities to create disciples who are the hands, voice, and heart of Christ.

Belief Statement

We believe our ministry is to assist parents, the first and most important teachers, in the education and formation of their children according to the teachings and philosophy of the Roman Catholic Church. We believe education at St. Joseph School encompasses the spiritual, academic, emotional, physical, moral and social growth of each student.

School Belief Statements

We believe, as the hands of Christ, that we must be committed to serving others in the parish, school, and community.

We believe, as the voice of Christ, that we must be committed to spreading the Gospel message with love to all.

We believe, as the heart of Christ, that we must be committed to worshipping Him with open hearts and teaching others to love and serve Him.

We believe our instruction of the curriculum must incorporate innovative, meaningful teaching techniques in order to meet the needs of individual learning differences.

We believe that continuous improvement must be a constant endeavor to encompass the growing and changing needs of our Catholic community.
