RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

RCIA 2017-2018

A short while ago the people of St. Joseph Parish accepted Sarah, Natalya, and Sara Kate into the order of catechumens, and in the months to come they will prepare to be baptized and receive the other sacraments of initiation, Confirmation and Eucharist.

We also welcomed Brenda, Lindsay, Megan, Peter, and John, who have been baptized in other churches but wanted to become Catholic, which involves making a profession of faith and receiving Confirmation and Eucharist. Finally, among those we welcomed are Chuck, Mike, Derrick, Emma and Chris, who have been baptized into the Catholic Church and now want to be prepared for Eucharist and/or Confirmation.

In the coming months we will accompany these brothers and sisters of ours as they prepare for the sacraments of initiation. Their hunger for these wondrous gifts from God reminds us how great these treasures are that we already enjoy.

Our ten candidates already are Christians and have been molded into the image of Christ. Our three catechumens know something of the Lord and want to join themselves to him as his disciples. Whether catechumen or candidate, all of them are relying on us to support them by means of our prayers and example.  As we walk with them on this momentous journey, may each of us come to appreciate even more what being a follower of Jesus means.

RCIA Team

The RCIA Team teaches the theology, rites and traditions of the Catholic faith to adults while awakening or rekindling a relationship with Jesus Christ within questioning hearts and souls. This is a ministry shared with Holy Spirit and St. Raphael, our cluster parishes.
