Tom Mrosko

Director of the Office of Migration and Refugee Services for the Diocese of Cleveland

Wednesday, March 21 at 7:00 PM in the Social Hall

In the weeks to come, St. Joseph Parish, Avon Lake, will host two people who will speak on matters that have been generating a lot of heat for quite some time: the place of both Muslims and immigrants in our country. At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, Isam Zaiem will speak on the topic, Know Your Muslim Neighbor. Islam: Reality vs. Myth. Isam is a co-founder of the Cleveland Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. A week later, on March 21 at 7 p.m., Tom Mrosko will share with us from his bountiful store of experience with immigrants. Tom serves as the director of the Office of Migration and Refugee Services for the Diocese of Cleveland. As such he has gained a unique perspective on the challenges that immigrants face when they come to the U.S. and how we, as followers of Jesus, can honor his command in Matthew 25:35 to welcome the stranger. Please join us for these important conversations, to be held in the social hall, which is accessible from the church entrance. St. Joseph Parish is located at 32929 Lake Rd., Avon Lake, and its phone number is 440-933-3152. For further information, contact Fr. Dan Fickes.
