The Avilas is an organization of people who hear the gentle command of Jesus. Members pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life and for the perseverance of those who have consecrated their lives to God. Avilas meets the second Monday of each month after the 7:30AM mass.
The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the Sacred Heart Chapel (located on the left side of the hall of the Lake Road entrance to the church) every Tuesday from 8:00Am to 8:00PM. Additionally, 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration is on the first Friday of each month following the 8:30am mass. For more details,
Living Rosary Group
Mission: Increase and renew Spirituality through devotion to the blessed Rosary. Wanted: Anyone and everyone interested in making and distributing rosaries along with coordinating the praying of the rosary for certain persons, causes, etc. Time commitments will be determined to best suit our group members.
One Family in Christ Rosary Group
Participation is open to anyone who would like to join us for reciting the rosary. Our schedule is Monday-Wednesday following the 7:30AM mass and Fridays at 7:55AM before the 8:30AM mass.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Friendships are formed and ideas exchanged as members work together to provide hand knitted and crocheted prayer shawls to infants of the parish at the time they are baptized. Being devoted to the Lord, these individuals knit and crochet as they pray for these small miracles of God's creation who will receive the prayer shawl. Each completed shawl has been blessed and becomes a tangible sign to the recipient and his/her parents that the prayers of our parish community are with them. They also receive a small card signed and dated by the one who knitted/crocheted the shawl and a short explanation of the shawl's purpose. Wanted: Anyone who likes to crochet or knit. The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the first Monday, every other month at 7:00pm. We meet either in St. Joseph Hall or a member's home.
Pro-Life Rosary Group
Participation is open to anyone who would like to recite the rosary for pro-life causes on Wednesday immediately following the One Family in Christ Rosary.
This is an opportunity for individuals interested in learning more about God's word as given in Sacred Scripture. The format is weekly study and discussion with each offering lasting six weeks. Familiarity with Scripture or theology is not necessary and new participants are always welcome.
Spirit of Hope Prayer Group
This group is focused on Scripture study and prayer. Each week, members study scripture for the upcoming Sunday and discuss how it impacts their lives. Members also share their prayer requests and witness how they have seen God answering their prayers. The group meets each Monday in the Church from 8:15 - 9:15PM.
