Thanksgiving 2019

This year on Thanksgiving Day, we are expanding our ministry to our neighbors to the west, in the city of Lorain. Besides providing the meal and hospitality for the guests at St. Elizabeth Center, we will also be providing a meal at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini in conjunction with their neighboring parishes, St. Vincent DePaul and Sacred Heart Chapel. I am excited to be in partnership with them to provide a needed warm and hospitable spot for Thanksgiving. I am asking for your help; please consider helping in one of the ways below:

Service is provided to people in our local community through the ministry of St. Vincent DePaul Society. SVdP needs the following items for their pantry: paper products, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, tuna fish, pasta and pasta sauce, and cereal. What we need for the Thanksgiving Meals are: stuffing bread crumbs, chicken stock, onions, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and turkey gravy. For food safety purposes, you can make monetary donations for perishable items, such as turkeys, butter, cream cheese, fresh green beans and celery. It will be easier for us to order these items directly from a food wholesaler to ensure proper food safety. For the items needed for the Thanksgiving meals, I will place cards (similar to how we do the Giving Tree) in the Gathering Area so we receive the proper quantities of what we need. We will need plenty of volunteers as well. I am excited for this opportunity; thank you in advance for your generosity.
