Parish School of Religion
Dear PSR parents,
Happily, the time has come for us to begin planning to move our program back to the classroom! Despite the challenges of COVID, our PSR program grew in numbers last year and flourished due to the commitment and perseverance of our parents and teachers...huge kudos to both of those groups!
As we return to in-person classes, some of our procedures will remain the same as they were before, and some will need to change as we adhere to CDC and Diocesan safety guidelines. The safety and well-being of our children remains our number one priority. Please read through this message carefully as there are several important factors particular to the planning process this year.
First, there will be two options offered for PSR this coming fall. One will be in-person PSR classes on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:45am. All protocols current this September will be closely observed. The other option will be home schooling. You will be asked to indicate the option of your choice on the registration form.
Second, early registration is critical this year! I’m sorry to put so much emphasis on early registration, but we cannot be registering throughout the summer if we are to plan effectively. In order to project the number of teachers and classroom aides we will need, registration MUST occur in a concrete and firmly observed period of time. We have allocated the month of May and the first half of June for PSR registration. PLEASE make it a point to complete your PSR registration during this time frame.
PSR fees this year will be $85/child between May 3 and June 15. PSR fees will increase to $100/child after June 15. PSR fees will increase to $130/child after July 15. The PSR fee can be paid by check, cash or credit card for in-person registration or by credit card for online registration.
Third, Michael Grecol and I will be processing all of our PSR registrations this year. We will offer the following three options for 2022-23 PSR registration:
-
Sunday, May 15 from 9:30-10:45am in the School Computer Room; please be sure to bring all medical information including insurance, doctor, and emergency contact specifics to verify/complete the emergency medical form. Everyone is to be masked and maintain social distancing.
-
Registration will be taken by Michael or me during the entire month of May and the first half of June in the Parish Office any day of the week from 9am-4pm or by appointment; please be sure to bring all medical information including insurance, doctor, and emergency contact specifics to verify/complete the emergency medical form. Everyone is to be masked and maintain social distancing.
-
If you are unable to come to the office, please contact the parish office to see if you are able to complete the registration steps online.
-
Please note that if your child is new to the PSR program or is entering first grade, you will need to submit a copy of the Baptism certificate.
-
Your child will be assigned to a classroom once this final step is completed.

This online process needs to take be completed before June 15.
Fourth, for those families choosing in-person classes, there will be a different protocol for drop-off and pick-up this year in keeping with CDC and Diocesan guidelines. That protocol will be sent to you in detail in late August.
Finally, please let me know before June 15 if your family needs assistance with PSR fees. I am happy to help. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me so I can assist.
I am wishing all of our PSR families a summer filled with lots of family time and an abundance of joy!
In His Service,
Rozann Swanson, DRE
