CHARITY IN LOVE

Charity in Love Horizontal.png

Charity in Love is a parish-based ministry rooted in the Gospel call to serve Christ in our brothers and sisters most in need. Through the generous support of parishioners, donors, and volunteers, we provide home-cooked, nourishing meals to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or social isolation in Lorain County and beyond. More than just a meal, our ministry offers dignity, hope, and human connection — an invitation into community for those who are often overlooked or forgotten.

BRIDGE POINT COMMONS - Elyria

At Bridge Pointe Commons, a permanent supportive housing facility for individuals transitioning out of chronic homelessness, Charity in Love provides 65 hot meals every Friday. These meals are delivered directly to the community room, offering not only nourishment but a dependable rhythm of care and presence. The residents—many of whom are adapting to stable housing for the first time in years—receive more than just food; they experience community, compassion, and dignity. Our meals support the broader work of the on-site service provider, Riveon Mental Health and Recovery, by reinforcing a sense of home and belonging.

ST. ELIZABETH CENTER - Lorain

The St. Elizabeth Center serves as a vital resource for individuals facing homelessness, poverty, and instability in central Lorain. Charity in Love is proud to partner with the center through a robust schedule of meal service: lunch every Wednesday, breakfast on the second and fourth Saturdays, dinner on the first and second Wednesdays, and both lunch and supper on the fourth Friday of each month. These meals offer warmth and comfort to individuals who often live without basic stability. In addition, our volunteers offer a consistent presence, fostering relationships with guests and supporting the center’s mission to help men achieve self-sufficiency and secure long-term housing.

THANKSGIVING MEALS - Lorain & Beyond!

Each year during the Thanksgiving season, Charity in Love expands its outreach to ensure that no one in our wider community feels forgotten during the holidays. At St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church in Lorain, we serve a festive holiday meal to over 1,000 people, creating a space of celebration, hospitality, and human connection. We also deliver and serve dozens of additional meals throughout the Avon Lake area. These outreach efforts embody the heart of our ministry: honoring the dignity of every person, especially during a season when community and compassion matter most.

Get Involved!

Charity in Love is sustained by the compassion and generosity of people like you. Whether you’re able to donate financially, volunteer your time in the kitchen or on site, or simply help spread the word, your involvement makes a tangible difference. Every dish prepared, every meal served, and every kind word shared helps restore dignity and hope to our neighbors in need. To join us in this mission—through giving, volunteering, or learning more—please call the Parish Office or donate below. Together, we can continue to feed bodies, uplift spirits, and build a more compassionate community.
